Is water gardening a science or is it an art?
As with most gardening related activities, it is considered by most to be both. Trial &
error is often the only teacher due to the vast number of unknown & constantly
changing, & sometimes uncontrollable variables encountered in nature. This is the
primary reason why we can find many opinions on how to construct & maintain a water
feature.
The advice we give & guidelines by which we build our own ponds at the garden center
are based on considerable research, discussions with many experts in the field, & our
own experiences. As you have read, we are “pond keepers,” not just vendors selling a
commodity with little or no knowledge of our products.
However, again we want to remind you - pond keeping is not an exact science.
Mother Nature keeps changing the rules (weather, different water qualities, new pests,
etc).
Research is giving us new information &, as in nature, there are many ways of
achieving the same goal. New information & products are coming onto the market
daily, as pond keeping becomes more popular. If the new information & products have
merit, we will make them available to you. Please let us know if there are other
